"Louder, I Can't Hear You" is a comedy about the fact that people don't always listen to each other. Each character is in his or her own world and although this makes for funny moments, the play brings home the truth that we are losing the ability to communicate.
CWC brought this one act to Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa on November 16-17 for the High School One Act Play Festival. After attending various theater workshops, we presented the play along with 7 other high schools who each brought their one act plays. We were all then critiqued by theatre arts students and staff, after which awards were given out. CWC earned "Outstanding Comic Timing" as well as "Best Worst Characters" awards. This experience was a wonderful time to develop our talents in theatre arts and a great time to get to know more about college life and make new friends.
The following week, CWC presented "Louder, I Can't Hear You" in the CWC gymnasium for our family and friends.
Students involved in the play were: Seniors Vanessa Theel, Elizabeth Venhuizen, Jon Posthuma, Nick Van Ee and Juniors Joe Venhuizen, Kelli Durant, Nate Scheuers, Nicky Posthuma and Brittany Haan.
