CWC Golf Scramble enjoys perfect weather
Postponed by two months due to extensive flooding in Waupun during June, the 100-player field at the 2008 CWC Golf Scramble enjoyed the exact opposite conditions when they hit the links of Rock River Country Club. Picture-perfect conditions greeted the 25 teams who participated in the tournament. There was a close race for the top, eventually won by the defending champion foursome from SIA Insurance of John Theune, Jack Theune, Dave Homan, and Doyle Daly, as they fired a 58 in the scramble format. One stronke back in second place was "Team Buteyn", made up of Mark Buteyn, Ben Buteyn, Scott Buteyn, and Scott Ritzema. There was a three-way tie for third place at 12-under par.
Photos of the event have been posted. Click on the golfer on the left side menu bar of the CWC Web Page. A big thanks to the Athletic Booster Club planning committee--Pete Vander Werff (chair), Mark Vander Werff, Mark Buteyn, Gregg Zonnefeld, and Dan Ten Napel for their work on the event, and also to Keith Navis at Rock River Country Club. Plans are being made for next June, so watch the website for the 2009 date!
