Educational Experience. I have my master's degree in Education -- School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Previously, I graduated from Dordt College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education as well as a minor in Psychology. I have enjoyed teaching at CWC for the past 16 years. Within those 16 years, I have enjoyed teaching computers, business, accounting, psychology courses and fulfilled the responsibilities as school counselor. I have also coached JV and Varsity volleyball.
Family: I am married to Brad Schouten who is a CWC alumnus. We are blessed with three children, Joshua and Jolie who both attend CWC, and Jenna Rae who was added to our family in June of 2009.
Most enjoyable at CWCS: I really enjoy the interaction I have with students while teaching the subject areas I thoroughly enjoyed in high school, and seeing them use that information outside of class. However my passion is the one on one interaction that I can experience with students outside of the classroom such as in small groups and in my counseling role. I enjoy working with students as they work on discovering who God has created them to be within themselves, possible career options and in their relationships with others.
