Two Health Careers Summer Camps: These camps are week long camps that allow the students to experience first-hand the challenges, opportunities and rewards of health professions.  These camps are for any students entering 9th – 12th grades. Camp dates: Fox Valley Camp June 27- July 1 and Lakeshore Camp July 11 – July 15.  Applications are due by May 4th 2010 for the Fox Valley Camp and May 11th 2010 for the Lakeshore Camp.  The only cost to the student is a $40.00 nonrefundable confirmation fee, due upon acceptance to camp. Applications for the camps are available online at the NEWAHEC web site www.newahec.org or the AHEC state system website at www.ahec.wisc.edu.  If you have any further questions please call or email Jill Niemczyk at the information below. 
 
Marian University Criminal Justice Summer Camp.
Marian University in Fond du Lac is hosting their third annual Criminal Justice Summer Camp. The dates of this camp will be  June 21 – 23, 2010. Campere stay in the dorms on campus to immerse themselves in numerous aspects of criminal justice. Students from Missouri and Iowa have attended this in the past. If you are interested in pursuing a career in one of the many exciting fields in criminal justice, you will want to make sure to consider this camp. For more information or for an application visitwww.marianuniversity.edu/cjcamp. The early bird deadline is May 1st, in which campers can save $20 on the registration fee.  Otherwise, the final registration deadline is May 28th.
 
 
UW Madison School of Pharmacy Discovery Day.
Saturday, March 13, 2010. The day-long program is designed for high school juniors and seniors interested in learning more about the School of Pharmacy degree programs. Students may bring along one parent or guest to this event and . The Discovery Day highlights two of the School of Pharmacy’s degree programs: 1) The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, and 2) the B.S. Pharmacology/Toxicology program. Advanced registration is required for all attending, and space is limited. You need to register online  http://www.pharmacy.wisc.edu/discoveryhs/. There is a $15 per person registration fee that needs to made payable to the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and mailed to: Tina Rundle, Student and Academic Affairs, School of Pharmacy, UW-Madison, 777 Highland Avenue, Madison WI 53705-2222.  The deadline for receipt of payment is March 8, 2010.  Refunds will be given for cancellations made (by phone at (608) 262-6234 or by email to tmrundle@pharmacy.wisc.edu on or before March 1, 2010. No refunds will be given for cancellations after that date.
 
 UW Stevens Point PreCollege Summer Program.
These are summer programs available to middle school or high school students. There are some scholarship programs availabe to cover the cost of these programs as well.  Programs available at UWSP are English for College, Exploring Your Talents, TV-Film Production Camp, Camp COFAC (Studio Art and/or Music). Calvin Collge Summer Academy:
This is a one month summer immersion program to help students prepare for excelling in college for college credit. The dates for the 2010 program are June 20 - July 16, 2010.  For more information visit www.calvin.edu/go/summeracademy.

Beaver Dam Community Hospital, Inc provides individuals the opportunity to job shadow and observe various careers within our organization. Some community college and tech school programs really strongly recommend young people to obtain job shadow experience prior to apply for their programs.
