Office of Justice Assistance Ready Summer Camps
READY (Responding to Emergencies and Disasters with Youth) Camp is a place that  middle and high school students will take part in disaster preparedness exercises, learn skills like first aid and CPR, and find out about careers in police, fire, medicine and emergency management. This summer, there are three READY Camps around the state: June 21-25 in Madison at UW-Madison, July 12-16 at UW-La Crosse, and the Wilderness READY Camp July 5-9 at Camp Birchrock in Rhinelander. Students enroll as part of a team, along with an adult adviser from a sponsoring school or community youth organization. Moraine Park Tech Knowledge College 
Middle School Parents and Students. Moraine Park in Fond du Lac is again hosting its Tech Knowledge College on August 3-5. This is a great opportunity to get a hands-on, interactive look at the skills and careers needed today and in the future. These activities are open to students entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade. You actually can explore two careers during these 3 days. Bussing is available from the Beaver Dam campus as well. You should register early to get the activities that interest year. Activities include animation, architecture, nursing, cooking, marketing, theatre and others. See www.morainepark.edu/tkc for other openings. See Mrs. Schouten if you would like an application.
 
 UW Stevens Point PreCollege Summer Program.
These are summer programs available to middle school or high school students. There are some scholarship programs availabe to cover the cost of these programs as well.  Programs available at UWSP are English for College, Exploring Your Talents, TV-Film Production Camp, Camp COFAC (Studio Art and/or Music). Calvin Collge Summer Academy:
This is a one month summer immersion program to help students prepare for excelling in college for college credit. The dates for the 2010 program are June 20 - July 16, 2010.  For more information visit www.calvin.edu/go/summeracademy.  
 
Trinity Christian College: Criminal Justice

Beaver Dam Community Hospital, Inc provides individuals the opportunity to job shadow and observe various careers within our organization. Some community college and tech school programs really strongly recommend young people to obtain job shadow experience prior to apply for their programs.
