First Grade Teacher
Education: I graduated from Covenant Life College, British Columbia in 1991 with a degree in Elementary Education
Educational Experience: After I graduated, I taught Kindergarten for two years in Canada and three years in Texas. In 1996 I moved back to Wisconsin and worked for the Wisconsin Dyslexia Institute where I taught for four years. When the WDI closed, I continued to tutor and remediate learning disabled children as an independent contractor for four more years. I first came to CWC in 2006 and taught 4-K. In 2007 I began to teach First Grade. This is my fourth year teaching at this level and I absolutely love it!!!
Family: Adam and I have been married for 14 years. We have two children currently enrolled in CWC: Mitchell is 10 and Melanie is 8. We have family scattered throughout Canada, Colorado, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Theme: God's Children Around the World is our theme this year. We'll take some time to learn about children in other countries and how we are all a part of God's great plan. It is going to be an extraordinary year!
The Teacher
Lord, who am I to teach the way
To little children day by day,
So prone myself to go astray?
I teach them knowledge, but I know
How faint they flicker and how low
The candles of my knowledge glow.
I teach them power to will and do,
But only now to learn anew
My own great weakness thru and thru.
I teach them love for all mankind
And all God's creatures, but I find
My love comes lagging far behind.
Lord, If their guide I still must be,
Oh, let the little children see
The teacher leaning hard on Thee.
