ART I

ART I is required at the sophomore level and has a structured curriculum to introduce a variety of mediums and experience to all CWC High School Students.  The semester begins with a study of ART HISTORY and exercises in the PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN.  A few weeks are spent in learning good DRAWING techniques followed with an introduction to several color mediums.   Students have opportunigy to try their hand with PRISMACOLOR PENCILS, PASTELS, and WATERCOLOR and ACRYLIC PAINTING.

ADVANCED ART

ADVANCED ART is offered at the Junior and Senior level with a prerequisite of Art I.  For 2009 and 2010, the class began it's fall semester working on a large mural on the outside wall of the Rock Shop in downdown Waupun.  This opportunity was offered to the public by the Waupun Beautification Committee to enhance the open space that the wall faces.  The SLIDE SHOW below includes photos of this year's work by CWC students.

The Advanced Art semester includes a PHOTOGRAPHY unit to teach good technique, style and composititon.  Some of 2010's best photos are included in the SLIDE SHOW above.

Work in many 2-D MEDIUMS and GRAPHIC DESIGN as well as some 3-D work are included in the semester talored to student's interests.

INDEPENDENT STUDIES

INDEPENDENT STUDIES are offered to CWC students that have taken both Art I and Advanced Art.  Students who meet all of the criteria to work independently are allowed to specialize in an area of their choice to increase their knowlege and expertise in any area of art offered at CWC.  Students confer with the Art Instructor on a regular basis and are graded on daily work and effort in their studies.
