Educational Experience: I came to CWC upon graduation from Dordt in 1992, and since that time I've been involved in almost every aspect of our school. For four years (1992-96) I taught middle school social studies and English and coordinated the technology program. In the fall of 1996 I moved over to the high school to teach social studies and Bible and serve as athletic director. I began a seven-year stint as high school principal in the fall of 1997, while continuing to teach three classes and serve as AD.
In the fall of 2004 I began a new position as the half-time Director of Advancement, whiel continuing in the classroom and as boys' athletic director. I coached girls' basketball for four years, boys' track for one year, and have been in the boys' soccer program for 16 years, holding the head coach position since 1996.
Family: My wife Kristi is in her 16th year as a teacher at CWC. After teaching third grade for the last 15 years, she has begun teaching kindergarten in the fall of 2007. We both grew up in Minnesota, and were married in 1990. We have three children who attend CWC, Trevor (7th grade), Cody (5th grade), and Mikayla (1st grade). We attend the First Christian Reformed Church of Waupun, where we are actively involved in worship leading with our Praise Team, lead a couple's Bible Study, and are part of the Friends of Faith.
Why I love working at CWC: Education is about the kids and seeing them grow. Watching the Holy Spirit shape and mold the lives of kids as they mature through their high school years and seeing the fruit fo the Spirit become more evident both while they are in school and after they graduate brings great rewards. In my work as Director of Advancement, it is exciting to share the vision and beauty of Christ-centered education with new families as well as with our own constituency. God is great!!!
